Nomination of Constance Bastine Harriman To Be an Assistant Secretary at the Department of the Interior


The President today announced his intention to nominate Constance Bastine Harriman to be Assistant Secretary for Fish and Wildlife at the Department of the Interior. She would succeed Becky Norton Dunlop.

Since 1987 Ms. Harriman has served as an associate with the law firm of Steptoe and Johnson in Washington, DC. Prior to this, she served in various positions, including Associate Solicitor for Energy and Resources at the Department of the Interior, 1986 - 1987; Special Assistant to the Solicitor, 1985 - 1986; associate with Sheppard, Mullin, Richter and Hampton, 1980 - 1985; and attorney adviser in the Office of Legal Policy at the Department of Justice, 1982.

Ms. Harriman graduated from Stanford University (B.A., 1970; M.A., 1973) and the University of California (J.D., 1980). She resides in Bethesda, MD.
