SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE

This FOIA request consists of material related to President James E. Carter. The bulk of the material pertains to President Carter's "Alanta Project." This project's assisted the underprivileged areas of Atlanta by encouraging federal and state officials to cooperate in waiving regulations which hindered economic development and assistance. Materials include correpondence from the public, President Carter, and administration officials, as well as published articles.
