A secondary subject category containing materials relating to medals and awards given by the president and presented to the president including the Frankel Humanities Award, Kennedy Center Honors, the Daily Points of Light Awards, the Medal of Honor, End Hunger Award, Faculty Fellows Award, Historic Preservation Awards, Environmental and Conservation Challenge Awards, Theodore Roosevelt Environmental Awards, and the Legislator of the Year Award. This category also contains civilian awards the president issues by law, Executive Order, or personal initiative. These include the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the Citizens Medal, the National Medal of Science, Environmental Education Awards for Teachers, and Excellence in Science and Mathematics Teaching.
