After graduation and marriage, George and Barbara headed for Texas in a 1947 Studebaker coupe similar to the one in the museum. There, he took a gamble on the oil industry and made it rich.

The Studebaker is a gift of Dr. Wayland and Mrs. Betty Hartsfield and was restored by Mr. B. B. Holland.
