Library Issues Forum: Diana Untermeyer, "Qatar: Sand, Sea and Sky"
Join us as we welcome Diana Untermeyer, wife of former U.S. Ambassador to Qatar Chase Untermeyer, as she discusses her experiences in that dynamic nation. Her book, "Qatar: Sand, Sea and Sky" is an intimate portrait of a modern Arab state which has used its petroleum wealth to burst onto the world stage in spite of its small size. In an era of seismic regional change, Qatar stands as a stable and open society as well as an important partner of the United States. Diana's experiences frame this well-researched and anecdotal account of a geographically and politically significant nation that daily grapples with change while honoring the traditions of its rich past.
A reception and book sale and signing will follow. Through a generous sponsorship from AT&T the event is offered free of charge, but reservations are strongly recommended.
