Boy Scouts: Merit Badge with Congressman Chet Edwards
The George Bush Presidential Library and Museum is pleased to welcome Congressman Chet Edwards to the Library to participate in a question and answer session with Boy Scouts on Saturday, August 22nd at 9:00 a.m. The program is designed to help the Scouts work on requirements 1, 2c, and 6 as listed on pages 2*3 of the Citizenship in the Nation merit badge workbook.
Congressman Edwards represents Texas District 17 which is comprised of portions of North Texas, Central Texas and the Brazos Valley. First elected to the United States Congress in 1990, Congressman Edwards is now a respected senior member on both the House Budget and the Appropriations Committees. He also serves on the Financial Services Appropriations Subcommittee, as vice chair of the Energy and Water Appropriations Subcommittee, and co-chairs the House Army Caucus. Congressman Edwards graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.A. in Economics from Texas A&M University in 1974. Upon graduation, he received the Earl Rudder Award, given to two outstanding seniors.
