Classic Film: To Kill a Mockingbird

To Kill a Mockingbird (1962, 129 minutes, B&W), directed by Robert Mulligan. Based on Harper Lee's Pulitzer Prize winning book of 1960. Atticus Finch is a lawyer in a racially divided Alabama town in the 1930's. He agrees to defend a young black man who is accused of raping a white woman. Many of the townspeople try to get Atticus to pull out of the trial, but he decides to go ahead. How will the trial turn out- an will it change any of the racial tension in the town?

Viewer's Choice is a collection of classic films that were selected by our classic film audiences in the Spring of 2009.

The Bush Library and the Bush Library Foundation present the Classic Film Series free of charge and invite anyone in the community interested in classic films to attend. Beverages are provided courtesy of Bryan Coca Cola Bottling Company and popcorn is available at no cost. Refreshments are available in the lobby in the hour preceding the start of each movie. All films are shown in the Hagler Auditorium of the Annenberg Presidential Conference Center unless otherwise noted and a speaker introduces each film. Parking is free and plentiful.
