Classic Film: The Forbidden Planet

Location: Auditorium B of the Annenberg Presidential Conference Center
Forbidden Planet (1956, 98 minutes, Color), directed by Fred Wilcox.  When Adams (Leslie Nielsen) and his crew are sent to investigate the silence from a planet inhabited by scientists, he finds all but two have died. Dr. Morbius (Walter Pidgeon) and his daughter, Altaira (Anne Francis) have somehow survived a hideous monster which roams the planet. Unknown to Adams, Morbius has made a discovery, and has no intention of sharing it with anyone.

Cosmic Comedies is a collection of classic films that will feature the genres of comedy and science fiction. This classic film series is provided in conjunction with the Beyond the Moon: NASA's Continuing Mission exhibit which runs until August 23.

The Bush Library and the Bush Library Foundation present the Classic Film Series free of charge and invite anyone in the community to attend. Beverages are provided courtesy of Bryan Coca Cola Bottling Company and popcorn is available at no cost. Refreshments are available in the lobby in the hour preceding the start of each movie.
