Classic Film: The Philadelphia Story
The Philadelphia Story (1940, 112 minutes, B&W), directed by George Cukor. After getting a divorce from C.K. Dexter Haven (Cary Grant), Tracy Lord (Katharine Hepburn) prepares to marry again. However, in the days before her wedding, Gaven, a reporter posing as her brother's friend, shows up at her doorstep. From there, Tracy is forced to choose among her past love, present love, and her new love.
Cosmic Comedies is a collection of classic films that will feature the genres of comedy and science fiction. This classic film series is provided in conjunction with the Beyond the Moon: NASA's Continuing Mission exhibit which opens on September 19.
The Bush Library and the Bush Library Foundation present the Classic Film Series free of charge and invite anyone in the community to attend. Beverages are provided courtesy of Bryan Coca Cola Bottling Company and popcorn is available at no cost. Refreshments are available in the lobby in the hour preceding the start of each movie.
