Classic Film: The Winning Team
The Winning Team (1952, 98 minutes, B&W), directed by Lewis Seiler. The true story of Grover Cleveland Alexander, starring Ronald Reagan as Alexander and Doris Day as his devoted wife. Poor health and alcoholism force Alexander out of the game, but the love of his faithful wife gives him a chance for redemption.
Take me out to the movies! Born to Play Ball is a collection of films dedicated to America's Favorite Pastime--baseball. In conjuction with the musuem exhibit of the same name, we will feature an array of inspiring, humorous-and yes, even musical-tales of baseball lore.
The Bush Library and the Bush Library Foundation present the Classic Film Series free of charge and invite anyone in the community to attend. Beverages are provided courtesy of Bryan Coca Cola Bottling Company and popcorn is available at no cost. Refreshments are available in the lobby in the hour preceding the start of each movie.
