World Trade Center Steel Unveiling
Date(s): September 9, 2006 to December 31, 1969
In honor of the fifth anniversary of Sept. 11, the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum and Texas Task Force 1 are hosting a commemorative ceremony on Saturday, September 9, 2006. This special ceremony will offer the Museum an opportunity to unveil a unique piece of twisted steel from the World Trade Center and an emotional display in the Museum rotunda featuring the bullhorn used by President George W. Bush at Ground Zero.Beginning at 10:00 a.m. on the Museum Plaza, the ceremony will feature speakers including members of the New York City Police Department who responded to the Twin Tower attacks and members of the London Fire Brigade who were on the scene of the July 7th, 2005 subway bombings. Join us in remembering the fallen heroes of those tragedies and honoring the commitment of servicemen and women of the Brazos Valley.
