We are proud to honor Black History Month by presenting “Life of a Buffalo Soldier.” African Americans have served valiantly in every great American War. In 1866 through an Act of Congress, legislation was adopted to create six African American units. In 1867, Cheyenne Warriors gave the nickname of “Buffalo Soldiers” to the African American cavalry out of respect for their fierce fighting ability. Come and hear the “Texas Story” of the 9th Cavalry and the 24th and 25th Infantry Regiments.
