Texas in WWII: Brazos County Celebration
Date(s): September 3, 2005 to December 31, 1969
This year marks the 60th anniversary of the end of World War II. In commemoration of this occasion, the Brazos County Historical Commission will host Texas in World War II September 3rd at the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum. This interactive community event will include a ceremony, a World War II educational film, veteran’s panels, 1940’s music entertainment, a military and domestic vehicle display and gallery talks about the home front and abroad and much more. This event will allow people of all ages to come to a deeper understanding of World War II through stories and presentations illustrating the personal sacrifices that soldiers and citizens made during the war.
