Continuing the discussion of “Literacy Across Cultures”
Continuing the discussion of “Literacy Across Cultures,” registration begins at 8:00 a.m. in the Museum Rotunda. Dr. James Anderson, Vice President and Associate Provost for Diversity, will offer opening remarks on “Literacy, Culture & Leadership” followed by two experts on writing and rhetoric. Dr. Nancy Grimm, Michigan Technological University, will discuss “Teaching Literacy in Global Times: Designing Learning for Identity-Changing Experiences” and Dr. Beverly Moss, Ohio State University, will discuss “A Writing Center’s Response to the Literacy Needs of a Diverse Community.” A noon luncheon will be held at the Conference Center sponsored by International Programs with a luncheon presentation by Texas State University Professor Byron Augustin on “Arab culture in a Global Society.” All events are free.
