Education Program: Spotlight on Art Educators, Exhibit Official Opening

Date(s): November 7, 2013
Time(s): 6:30-7:30 p.m.
Location: George Bush Presidential Library and Museum's Rotunda and Orientation Theater

Join us for an evening celebrating art and local artists as the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum opens the new "Spotlight on Art Educators" exhibit. Several works from local art educators and members of the Brazos Valley Art Education Association will be placed on display in the museum's rotunda.

The art educators being recognized are Mindy Austin, Jami Bevans, Kathy Dodd, Jennifer Easterling, Barbara Ferreira, Christine Grafe, Sharon Holt, Lisa Miller and Magda Zietsman.

Monika Pate, a signature member of the National Watercolor Society, will present a free special program about some of her award-winning works and her transparent watercolor technique. Her art is displayed in several public exhibitions and private collections throughout the U.S. and overseas, and emphasizes the beauty of various subjects in bright sunlight by capturing the drama of light and color.

The BVAEA is an organization dedicated to enhancing the understanding and teaching of art through its shared learning community. For more information, please contact Dr. Shirley Hammond at (979) 691-4013.
