Exhibit Opening Reception and Lecture: Washington's Acts of Congress

Location: George Bush Presidential Library and Museum's Orientation Theater and Rotunda

Richard Brookhiser, author and renowned presidential historian, will discuss the significance of President Washington's personal copy of the Laws of the United States. Having written several books on the founding of America and its early presidents, Brookhiser has a wealth of knowledge of this pivotal time in our history. He has worked at the National Review since 1977, had column in the New York Observer for 20 years and currently writes a column for American History. He was awarded the National Humanities Medal in 2008 and the Guggenheim Fellowship in 2011.

The lecture will be held in the Annenberg Presidential Conference Center's Hagler Auditorium, with the reception and book signing to follow in the Bush Library and Museum's rotunda. There will also be an opportunity to view the Acts of Congress book on display in the exhibit gallery.
