Classic Film: "Suspicion," part of the Mysteries of Life film series
(1941, 99 minutes, Black and White) Directed by Alfred Hitchcock. Shy and beautiful Lina (Joan Fontaine, in an Oscar-winning performance) falls head over heels for handsome gambler Johnnie (Cary Grant) – but after the couple elopes, she begins to fear for her life when she discovers Johnnie's true nature and dark past in this Alfred Hitchcock thriller. Lina's doubts about her husband are compounded when he expresses a growing fascination with poison and a colleague of his meets an untimely death.
The George Bush Presidential Library and Museum and the George Bush Presidential Library Foundation present the Classic Film Series free of charge and invite anyone in the community to attend. Beverages are provided courtesy of Bryan Coca Cola Bottling Company and popcorn is available at no cost. Refreshments are available in the lobby in the hour preceding the start of each movie. All films are shown in the Annenberg Presidential Conference Center's Hagler Auditorium, unless otherwise noted, and a speaker introduces each film. Parking is free and plentiful.
