Classic Film: "Roman Holiday," part of the Headed to the Movies! film series

Date(s): July 12, 2012
Time(s): 7 p.m.
Location: Annenberg Presidential Conference Center's Hagler Auditorium

(1953, 118 minutes, black & white) Directed by William Wyler. Princess Ann (Audrey Hepburn) embarks on a highly publicized tour of European capitals. When she and her royal entourage arrive in Rome, she begins to rebel against her restricted, regimented schedule. To escape her royal existence, she sneaks out and finds herself disoriented, lost and alone on a park bench. She is soon taken under the wing of Joe Bradley (Gregory Peck), an American newspaper reporter stationed in Rome. She thinks her identity is safe but Bradley is on to her — and senses a sensational story if he can just keep her handlers from retrieving her too quickly.

The George Bush Presidential Library and Museum, George Bush Presidential Library Foundation, and BTU present the Classic Film Series free of charge and invite anyone in the community to attend. Beverages are provided courtesy of Bryan Coca Cola Bottling Company and popcorn is available at no cost. Refreshments are available in the lobby in the hour preceding the start of each movie. All films are shown in the Annenberg Presidential Conference Center's Hagler Auditorium, unless otherwise noted, and a speaker introduces each film. Parking is free and plentiful.
