Classic Film: "Road to Morocco," part of the Headed to the Movies! film series

Date(s): June 14, 2012
Time(s): 7 p.m.
Location: Annenberg Presidential Conference Center's Hagler Auditorium

(1942, 82 minutes, black & white) Directed by David Butler. Stowaways Jeff (Bing Crosby) and Orville (Bob Hope) end up desperate and shipwrecked on the North African coast, where they shanghi a camel and journey across the desert to Morocco. For some fast cash, Jeff sells Orville into slavery. But Orville comes out ahead: His owner turns out to be the luscious Princess Shalmar (Dorothy Lamour), who announces plans to wed Orville. Naturally, Jeff would like to save Orville from his "dire" fate, even if it means taking his place! But they haven't figured on virile desert chieftain Mullay Kassim (Anthony Quinn), who has his eyes on the princess himself.

The George Bush Presidential Library and Museum, George Bush Presidential Library Foundation, and BTU present the Classic Film Series free of charge and invite anyone in the community to attend. Beverages are provided courtesy of Bryan Coca Cola Bottling Company and popcorn is available at no cost. Refreshments are available in the lobby in the hour preceding the start of each movie. All films are shown in the Annenberg Presidential Conference Center's Hagler Auditorium, unless otherwise noted, and a speaker introduces each film. Parking is free and plentiful.
