Classic Film: "3 Godfathers," part of the Headed to the Movies! film series

Date(s): April 12, 2012
Time(s): 7 p.m.
Location: Annenberg Presidential Conference Center's Hagler Auditorium

(1948, 106 minutes, color) Directed by John Ford. After robbing the local bank, Bob Hightower (John Wayne) and his partners in crime (Harry Carey Jr and Pedro Armendariz) hightail it out of town. In the wilderness, they find an abandoned wagon and a woman who is about to give birth. Before dying, she extracts a promise from the baby's three godfathers that they will take care of him. The three decide to do their best by the newborn and set off across the desert to deliver it to safety. Not all will survive and for those who do, jail likely awaits them.

The George Bush Presidential Library and Museum, George Bush Presidential Library Foundation, and BTU present the Classic Film Series free of charge and invite anyone in the community to attend. Beverages are provided courtesy of Bryan Coca Cola Bottling Company and popcorn is available at no cost. Refreshments are available in the lobby in the hour preceding the start of each movie. All films are shown in the Annenberg Presidential Conference Center's Hagler Auditorium, unless otherwise noted, and a speaker introduces each film. Parking is free and plentiful.
