Classic Film: "The Wizard of Oz," part of the Headed to the Movies! film series
(1939, 101 minutes, black and white and color) Directed by Victor Fleming. There's no place like home for young Dorothy Gale (Judy Garland), who's been swept away from her farm in Kansas to a wonderland of munchkins, flying monkeys, different-colored horses, and witches – both good and bad. She must follow the Yellow Brick Road to the all-knowing Wizard of Oz to find her way home. Along her journey, she meets the Scarecrow (Ray Bolger), the Tin Man (Jack Haley) and the Cowardly Lion (Bert Lahr), who help her fend off the Wicked Witch of the West (Margaret Hamilton).
The George Bush Presidential Library and Museum, George Bush Presidential Library Foundation, and BTU present the Classic Film Series free of charge and invite anyone in the community to attend.
