College Station, TX - The Brazos County Historical Commission will host Texas in World War II, a Brazos County Celebration, on September 3rd from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum. This celebration is being held in conjunction with the 60th anniversary of the end of World War II. This interactive community event will include a ceremony, a World War II educational film, veteran’s panels, 1940’s music entertainment, a military and domestic vehicle display and gallery talks about the home front and abroad and much more. People of all ages will be able to come to a deeper understanding of World War II through stories and presentations illustrating the personal sacrifices that soldiers and citizens made during the war.

Admission to the event is free. The first 500 attendees will receive a complimentary program and lapel pin. A complimentary hot dog lunch will be served on a first-come first-serve basis at noon. Expanded handicap parking will be available.

Community support for this effort has been outstanding.
