Classic Film Series Presents State Fair
For Release: August 3, 2005College Station, TX - The Museum at the George Bush Presidential Library continues its summer lineup of the Classic Film Series with State Fair (1945) on August 11th, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. in the Presidential Conference Center. In this summer classic, directed by Walter Lang, the entire Frake family, complete with discontented daughter Margie and brother Wayne, leave the family farm for the Iowa State Fair. Margie, Wayne, and Blue Boy the hog all find summer romance as the fair proceeds. Will the romance outlast the fair? This family film features an amiable cast and a rousing Rogers & Hammerstein score. Will Rogers and Janet Gaynor deliver fun performances. Admission and refreshments are FREE. The Museum at the George Bush Presidential Library hours are Monday – Saturday, 9:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. and Sundays from 12:00 until 5:00 p.m. Museum admission is $7.00 for adults, $5.00 for senior citizens 62+ and active or retired military with ID, as well as groups of 20 or more with advance reservations. Children 6 and older are $2.00; TAMU and Blinn College students as well as children under 6 are free.
