An Evening Of Music By Women Composers

For Release: August 10, 2004
College Station, TX - The University Summer Performance Series and the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum present an evening of beautiful music. In conjunction with the museum’s theme, The Year of the Woman all of the selections chosen were written by women composers. The free concert begins at 8:00 p.m. on August 24th in the Annenberg Presidential Conference Center.

The concert will feature the talents of a host of resident musicians. These include the Arte Musique Chamber Ensemble, Bonnie Harris-Reynolds, Leon W. Couch III, Joan Heller, Marian Anderson String Quartet, Colin Mason, Werner Rose, and the St. Cecilia Consort. They will be performing the music of female composers throughout the ages, such as Elisabeth-Claude Jacquet de la Guerre, Eibhlis Farrell, Nancy Bloomer Deussen, and Lori Laitman, along with several others.
