Nineteenth Century Women In Photography
For Release: July 27, 2004College Station, TX - The next Bush Museum Issues Forum will host Lynne Vallone, Ph.D. The program begins at 7:00 in the Museum’s orientation theater Thursday, August 5th.
Keeping with the Museum’s Year of the Woman theme, Vallone will discuss the development of photography in nineteenth-century England . She will highlight two important photographers from that era: Julia Margaret Cameron and Charles Lutwidge Dodgson (also known as Lewis Carroll).
Vallone is currently a professor in the Department of English at Texas A&M University , specializing in the literature and culture of childhood. She has written and edited several books and articles on numerous subjects including children’s literature and the girlhood Queen Victoria.
