Bush Library Mourns The Loss Of President Reagan
For Release: June 8, 2004College Station, TX - The staff and volunteers of the George Bush Presidential Library Center join the rest of the nation in honoring the life of President Ronald Reagan.
The George Bush Presidential Library and Museum has set up a memorial in the rotunda. The public is invited to write their condolences on a large scroll that will be sent to the Reagan family. For security reasons gifts or memorabilia will not be accepted. In lieu of flowers, the Reagan family has requested donations be made to the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library Foundation.
“We join the nation in mourning the passing of a great president and statesman,” commented Bush Library Director, Dr. Douglas Menarchik. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of Ronald Reagan during this difficult time. I hope that the tremendous legacy left by President Reagan will bring his family comfort and fond memories in the coming days.”
The memorial will be open during normal museum hours through Monday, July 5 th. Please note the extension of the tribute to President Reagan. The Museum at the George Bush Presidential Library hours are Monday – Saturday, 9:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. and Sundays from 12:00 until 5:00 p.m. Museum admission is $7.00 for adults, $5.00 for senior citizens 62+ and groups of 20 or more with reservations. Children 6 and older are $2.00 TAMU and Blinn college students as well as children under 6 are free.
