Gates To Speak At Issues Forum

College Station, TX - The Bush Museum Issues Forum will host Texas A&M University President Dr. Robert M. Gates. The program begins at 7:00 p.m. in the Presidential Conference Center on June 3rd. President Gates will speak about America in 21 st century international affairs.Dr. Gates, a former director of the Central Intelligence Agency, became the Texas A&M University president in 2002. As an officer in the CIA, Dr. Gates is the only employee in the CIA’s history to rise from an entry-level employee to director. In his career with the CIA and the National Security Council he served six presidents. Dr. Gates has been awarded the National Security Medal, the Presidential Citizens Medal, has twice received the National Intelligence Distinguished Service Medal, and has three times received CIA's highest award, the Distinguished Intelligence Medal. The highly decorated Gates authored a book, From the Shadows: The Ultimate Insider’s Story of Five Presidents and How They Won the Cold War.
