Museum Announces Free Summer Education Program
The Education Department of The Museum at the George Bush Presidential Library announces their 2003 summer program! In concert with the Legends of the West exhibit, students will explore the important events that occurred in American history which led to the expansion and settlement of the West. This hands-on, interactive program explores the Legends of the West featuring many magnificent sculptures, paintings, and artifacts that will aid in the students' learning, such as W.H. "Buck" Dunton's painting In Cattle Land, Frederic Remington's sculpture Broncho Buster and over one hundred pairs of custom made boots.
Students in third through sixth grade are welcome to participate! The single half-day program will take place from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., Monday through Friday from June 9th to July 3rd. Students will enjoy the adventure of exploring and revisiting events in Western history. The fun of arts and crafts will be combined with a tour of Legends of the West.
