Press Release
Easter Celebration Scheduled for Saturday
The College Station Easter Egg hunt has been a tradition for over 23 years hosted by the College Station Police Department. Each year the event became increasingly popular with the local community, drawing larger and larger crowds. This will be the fifth year the police department and the Museum have collaborated bring this event to the community. The Museum has added activities to the event in an attempt to model the event after the White House Easter Egg Roll.
Specially designed wooden White House style Easter Eggs are given to the children. President and Mrs. Bush will autograph some of the eggs and certificates for them will be randomly packed into “goodie” bags given to the participants. There will be carnival style games and activities planned as well as face painting. Local merchants contribute prizes to give away along with six bicycles awarded to randomly selected winners in each of the three age categories. The College Station Fire Department will provide a puppet show for the children while volunteers give away Coca-Cola and snacks.
This year’s event promises to be even bigger and better than last year. So please join us for this celebration, and while you are here enjoy the newest exhibit in our changing exhibit gallery “Legends of the West.” Admission to the museum for children is free, adults are $5.00.
