Press Release
Arrowmoon District Pinewood Derby
The Boy Scouts of America's Arrowmoon District Pinewood Derby is at 10 a.m. June 5 in the rotunda of the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum.
The Arrowmoon District has about 1,200 scouts in 62 units throughout Brazos County. The Pinewood Derby is for Cub Scouts in grades one through five.
"The purpose of the Pinewood Derby ... it's an event where a young Scout can do something with his dad, and involves taking a block of wood and making a car," said Stuart Goins, Arrowmoon's senior district executive.
Winners of the district Pinewood Derby will advance to compete in the Sam Houston Area Council in Houston. The event is free and open to the public.
