Museum Remembers September 11th
As people struggled with the terrible events of September 11, artists from all over the United States began to pour their feelings into their work. Whether it was paint or sculpture, needlework or decoupage the emotions of a nation are reflected and captured in these wonderful expressions that honor the victims of September 11. Remembering September 11 will include a diverse range of artwork given to former President Bush by various artists around the country. The exhibit will feature art from renowned "Blue Dog" artist George Rodrigue as well as American painter Jamie Wyeth and Texas artist Stephanie Sale.
"This exhibit is certain to strike an emotional chord with all audiences," said Museum Curator Patricia Burchfield, "especially with the one-year anniversary of the tragedy quickly approaching."The exhibit runs through January 5, 2003. Museum hours are Monday - Saturday, 9:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. and Sundays from 12:00 until 5:00 p.m. Museum admission is $5.00 for adults, $4.00 for students, $3.50 for senior citizens 62+ and groups of 20 or more with reservations. Children under 16 as well as Texas A&M and Blinn College Students are free.
