All Aboard For The Departure Of Locomotives On Parade Auction Event
For Release: June 30, 2006College Station, TX - The Museum invites you to join us for the finale of Locomotives on Parade. September 29th promises to be an evening of good food, good friends and a great time. Be a part of what we believe will be THE premier art event and auction of 2006.
The Locomotives on Parade public arts project, which enriches the Brazos Valley community and landscape, is coming to a close. We want to send the locomotives into the community full steam ahead! This night will give the Museum an opportunity to look back on the successful parade ending September 4th and make these unique works of art available for public auction.
Any locomotive whose final bid price exceeds $2500 will be personally autographed by former President Bush. The proceeds of the auction benefit future exhibits and education programs at the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum.
Guests are invited to participate in the auction, claim an integral piece of local history, enjoy a buffet and be entertained by country music superstar Clint Black. Mr. Black will be here to help us celebrate the conclusion of our public arts project and the opening of our new exhibit: 100 Tall Texans.
This exciting new exhibit will highlight some of the larger-than-life characters of the twentieth century. One of A.J. Foyt’s Indy race cars, an Apollo-era space suit, and two of George Foreman’s title belts are just a few of the artifacts that will be featured in the exhibit. This remarkable collection of honorees and artifacts makes it a true Texas original.
Corporate sponsorship tables are available now. See the attachment for a description of sponsorship level opportunities.
General admission tickets will go on sale July 13th. The cost of the tickets is $150 each. There are only 600 total seats available for this event, so this will be a very intimate and entertaining evening.
