AgTrak Model Railroad On Display
April 10 through May 17, visitors can see the AgTrak model train layout at the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum. Members of AgTrak take pride in promoting "the world's greatest hobby" by setting up displays in various locations such as malls, convention halls, airport hangers, libraries, business warehouses, schools, etc.
The George Bush Library is pleased to welcome eleven modular model railroads to the library during the nine months of the Trains: Tracks of the Iron Horse exhibit. The model railroads will be set up in the rotunda of the library and will be operated on weekends (Saturday 9:30–5:00 and Sunday 12:00–5:00), holidays, and during special museum events. On weekdays, the railroads will remain set up as static displays.
The dates of operation for the AgTrak model will be April 15-16, April 22-23, April 29-30, May 6-7 and May 13-14. Please note, AgTrak will not be on static display the week of May 8-12.The model is N scale. For more information about AgTrak, you may visit their website at http://www.agtrak.org.
While viewing the model trains, make sure to visit the Trains: Tracks on the Iron Horse exhibit. On display through March 31 will be the historic golden spike, the final link in the forming of the first transcontinental railroad in the United States.
The Museum at the George Bush Presidential Library hours are Monday – Saturday, 9:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. and Sundays from 12:00 until 5:00 p.m. Museum admission is $7.00 for adults, $5.00 for senior citizens 62+ and active and retired military with ID, as well as groups of 20 or more with advance reservations. Children 6 and older are $2.00; TAMU and Blinn College students as well as children under 6 are free.
