Waco-born director, writer and artist Robert Wilson has become one of the most influential and acclaimed directors of avant-garde theater, although he is perhaps better known in Europe, where he frequently works, than in the United States. His major productions have included Einstein on the Beach, Death, Destruction and Detroit, among others. He has directed Parsifal and Four Saints in Three Acts for Houston Grand Opera and Danton’s Death and When We Dead Awaken for Houston’s Alley Theatre.
