As a native Texan, Lance Armstrong’s name resides among our state’s legendary stories of endurance and fortitude. Now world renowned and named Sportsman of the Year several times, Armstrong’s greatest fame is as winner of the Tour de France for seven consecutive years (1999-2005). Although this feat is unprecedented, it is even more remarkable given the fact that he accomplished it post-cancer. Armstrong’s illustrious sports career is now followed by his involvement with the Lance Armstrong Foundation. The Foundation has developed and distributed the yellow Live Strong wristband, which has raised monies to draw the public’s attention to and support for the fight against cancer.
