The 34th Tactical Fighter Squadron General Dynamics F-16A is seen engaging ”Aggressor” Squadron Northrop F-5Es low over the Nellis Air Force Base ranges north of Las Vegas, Nevada.
The original painting usually hangs at Air Combat Command Headquarters at Langley Air Force Base, Virginia. ”Sunrise Encounter: was created for the U. S. Air Force Art Collection after the artist’s first F-16 flight at Hill AFB, Utah in April 1980.
The artist was the first civilian to fly in the F-16 outside of the General Dynamics test force.
