Artist: Keith Ferris
Medium: Casein
Date: 1964

The artist flew with the USAF Thunderbirds in December 1963 in their North American F-100s. This painting attempts to convey the thrill of that thundering take-off. The Thunderbirds move in unison by design, as seen here from 25 feet in the air above the runway center line and 45 feet in front of the lead aircraft.
